Story

After watching the TV interviews with Rob it moved us so much that we decided to try and do something to help. A few of us got together and decided that we wanted to try and make a bit of a difference to the lives affected by such a dibilitating disease. At 8:00am on Sunday 23rd February we plan to walk as a group from Ackworth Carrbridge Playing Fields to Headingley to raise money for Rob Burrow and the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDa). Any money raised will be split 50/50 between MNDa and Leeds Rhinos Foundation. The foundation has setup a fund to support Rob in his treatment and his family of a wife and three children under 8 in the years ahead. Please donate what you can in support of both funds. If you would like to join us on the day please do. You don’t have to walk the whole way, you can start it, join part way or just do the last bit, as much as you can manage. We do anticipate a good turn out and everyone is welcome. It’s 18 miles taking us through Featherstone, Castleford, Methley and Rothwell before heading into Leeds and up to Headingley . There will be pit stops along the route with refreshments and snacks provided.
