Bob Wallace completing his marathon under the Doha sun

'Despite the Doha Marathon in Qatar 2021 being cancelled I still undertook distance on the 19th March 2021 raising money for Rob Burrow, MND Fight Back Fund. It was an honor to be involved. I have been a Rugby League fan for over 30 years as well as playing the game in my younger years, the sports unique family and regional bond is something I have always admired. I had little knowledge or understanding of MND until I watched ‘Rob Burrow, (My year with MND) on the BBC. Seeing how the effects of this terrible disease had affected a professional sportsman, fellow human being and more importantly family man in a very short period of time, left me wanting to do something to try and help. My 26.3 miles run under the ‘Doha Sun’ was painful and hard work, but my knowledge of what ‘Rob’ and is his family are experiencing drove me over the finishing line.' Bob Wallace
